Realizing that language can sometimes be an obstacle the Hospital Particular do Algarve in Faro and Alvor has made available a new department aimed to provide a personalized service to all Care Card holders as well as to foreign health insurance policy holders.
This new department will hopefully facilitate communication with foreign patients namely on issues such as needed documentation and bureaucracy in Portugal. They will be establishing communication between the patient and the insurance company, and between the hospital staff, the patient and the patient’s family.
According to a hospital spokesman, “a Care Card holder, and their immediate family, will not only be able to take advantage of a 10 per cent discount on all hospital bills, but will also benefit from other advantages, such as easy access to medical files, priority in the making of appointments and exams as well as special payment facilities.
